Infrastructure Operations Engineer12-Month Contract | €495 per day | Republic of Ireland BasedWe are seeking an experiencedInfrastructure Operations Engineerto support the delivery and ongoing operation of highly secure, mission-critical infrastructure environments across cloud and data-centre platforms.This is a12-month contract role, open to candidatesbased anywhere in the Republic of Ireland, withfully expensed EU travelrequired2–3 times per yearfor deployments lasting4–6 weeks at a time.What You'll Be DoingInfrastructure Delivery & SupportBuild, configure and support secure cloud and data-centre environments, including air-gapped systemsInstall, maintain and troubleshoot physical and virtual infrastructure (servers, storage, networking)Carry out operational activities such as patching, upgrades and break/fix resolutionOperational Stability & ResilienceMonitor system health and performance to ensure high availability across secure networksImplement and maintain backup and disaster recovery processesTriage and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 incidents, escalating complex issues where requiredCustomer & Service Lifecycle SupportAct as a key technical contact for customer support queries, ensuring SLAs are metCommunicate system updates, changes and service status clearly to stakeholdersSupport the full lifecycle of infrastructure from deployment through steady-state operationsSecurity, Governance & ComplianceApply security updates and patches in line with internal standards and external requirementsEnsure environments meet operational and certification standards (including Google-aligned technologies)Collaboration & Knowledge SharingWork closely with deployment engineers, programme managers and support teamsContribute to onboarding and mentoring of new engineers when requiredMaintain clear, accurate documentation including runbooks and operational proceduresWhat We're Looking ForEssential ExperienceDegree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline3+ years' experience in infrastructure operations, systems administration or similar rolesStrong hands-on knowledge of:Linux (CLI)On-prem KubernetesNetworking fundamentals and protocolsVirtualisation and cloud platformsWillingness and ability to work onsite for up to 6 weeks at a time during EU deploymentsNice to HaveIndustry certifications (ITIL, CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)Experience working in secure or air-gapped environmentsExposure to complex enterprise cloud deploymentsContract DetailsRate: €495 per dayDuration: 12-month contractLocation: Republic of Ireland (must be Ireland-based)Travel: EU travel 2–3 times per year (4–6 weeks per trip, all expenses covered)Working Pattern: Primarily remote outside of deployment periodsOn-Call/Overtime: None
