Senior / Principal Engineers – Water Services, Flooding & Drainage Projects
RPS is seeking applications for the position of Principal Engineer in our Galway Office. We are looking for experienced engineers to support and deliver high-profile projects, mainly in water & drainage, for public and private clients in Ireland and beyond.
About the Role:
* Report to Line Manager / Business Unit Leader.
* Work as part of an integrated team to deliver projects on time.
* Conduct site inspections, prepare reports, design calculations, drawings, estimates, and construction packs.
* Present reports at client meetings.
* Assist in delivering projects across the company.
* Provide engineering consultancy services at a professional level.
About you:
* Level 8 degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related field; Level 9 Masters is a plus.
* Chartered membership of Engineers Ireland or ICE.
* At least 7 years of relevant experience in water networks, wastewater systems, water/wastewater treatment, flood management infrastructure.
* Experience within Water Services or Flooding & Drainage sectors with successful project delivery.
* High technical capability and a track record in water services projects.
Key Skills/Attributes:
* Knowledge of public works contracts.
* Experience in detailed engineering design and civil/structural specifications.
* Experience preparing construction contract documents.
* Experience working with employer-led or contractor-led design teams.
* Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, Civil 3D, EPANET, WinDes, Infoworks, etc.
* Knowledge of BIM is advantageous.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
