Finance Consultant – Albany Beck Consultant

Albany Beck is looking for a motivated Finance Consultant to join our consulting team, operating within the operations team of a major financial services institution. You'll be part of a dynamic and fast-moving function where accuracy, continuous improvement, and personal development are highly valued.
In this role, you will support a broad and varied client base—from individual investors to large institutional and corporate broking clients—ensuring efficient settlement activity while actively contributing to operational enhancements across the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and complete off-market transfer instructions for retail and institutional clients.
* Check pricing inputs and portfolio information to ensure the integrity of settlement data.
* Coordinate and support corporate broking activities, including end-to-end processing of share cancellations.
* Keep operational playbooks, guidelines, and procedures fully updated to reflect current practices.
* Contribute to team projects, workflow reviews, and other departmental initiatives as they arise.
* Ensure all settlement activity complies with internal processes, operational controls, and Client Asset Regulations (CAR).
* Monitor regulatory, procedural, or operational developments and implement necessary updates.
* Take ownership of designated administrative workloads, providing timely, accurate, and reliable service.
* Identify areas where efficiency or quality can be improved and propose actionable solutions.
* Provide comprehensive support to internal partners—such as Wealth Management teams—across a variety of settlement-related matters.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve collective targets and maintain strong operational performance.
* Challenge outdated practices constructively and advocate for improvements that enhance team effectiveness.
* Track outsourced provider performance and escalate any risks or potential SLA breaches.
* Represent the team at internal and external meetings, ensuring consistent, professional engagement with stakeholders.
Experience & Skills
* Strong proficiency across Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Experience within financial services—particularly settlement operations or client operations—is beneficial.
* Demonstrated ability to resolve issues collaboratively, including cases involving external parties.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
* Strong organisational capability with the ability to handle shifting priorities with minimal oversight.
* High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
* Capable team contributor with the confidence to work independently where required.
Qualifications
* Industry certifications are advantageous.
* A third-level qualification is preferred but not essential.
