CMM Project Engineer Job Description
The role of a CMM Project Engineer is to sustain daily engineering operations across production, providing support to CMMs on the production floor and championing operations excellence across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sustain Daily Operations: Contribute to and input into Engineering functional strategy, ensuring seamless daily operations across production.
* CMM Support: Provide technical assistance to CMMs when required on the production floor, ensuring efficient operation and high-quality results.
* Operations Excellence: Champion operations excellence across the site, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
* Engineering Research Design: Plan and conduct engineering research design, driving innovation and improving product quality.
* Lean Initiatives: Plan and conduct significant engineering and lean initiatives, optimizing processes and reducing waste.
* Standardization: Standardize and optimize best practices and procedures across the network, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
* Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with other units' vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time, and regulatory standards are met.
* Process Resolution: Communicate with business partners to resolve process and product issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
* Project Evaluation: Evaluate the results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance and assistance as required, ensuring successful project delivery.
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to Staff engineers, senior engineers, Engineers, Co-op Students, Technicians, and operators as required, mentoring and developing team members.
Requirements:
* Education: Degree or Master's in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc.) or technical experience equivalency.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience, with metrology experience ideally in Mitutoyo & Zeiss CMMs.
* Laser Engraving: Knowledge of laser engraving machine and ability to troubleshoot production process issues.
* Lean Qualification: Recognised Lean qualification, ideally a black belt, demonstrating expertise in lean principles and application.
* Project Management: Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects, ensuring successful project delivery.
* Troubleshooting: Production process troubleshooting experience required, with ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
