Electrical Maintenance Specialist Job Description
This role is based at a manufacturing facility in Co. Offaly, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
* The Electrical Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure peak operational efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.
* Applying practical fault-finding skills along with a strong understanding of preventative maintenance and lean manufacturing principles.
* Maintaining all maintenance tasks meet company standards and working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Site Accountant.
* Utilizing personal initiative, knowledge, and experience when designing, estimating, and installing mechanical services, engineering equipment, and plant systems in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.
* Monitoring and maintaining the smooth operation of mechanical services, engineering plant systems, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Fault diagnosis and repair of electrical machinery, including motors, pumps, compressors, refrigeration systems, heat recovery systems, ventilation systems, and control mechanisms.
* Installation and maintenance of industrial automation systems, moving equipment, conveyors, power transmission systems, and PLCs.
* Bearing repairs and maintenance of pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
* Ensuring adherence to high standards of safe working practices and awareness.
* Effective problem-solving and analytical skills for effective fault diagnosis.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
* Able to work independently without close supervision and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Requirements
* Holds a Trade Electrical Qualification and evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Demonstrates a high level of technical expertise with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar industry.
* Expertise in Industrial Automation, Moving Equipment, Conveyors, Power Transmission, Refrigeration, PLCs, bearing repairs, Pneumatic/Hydraulic systems, and electrical machinery.
