As a platform architect, you'll lead a new initiative to develop a service-oriented architecture for an existing high-traffic web application.
In your day-to-day, you will:
* Lead the design and implementation of a new service-oriented architecture
* Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration with OLAP, OLTP, and machine learning infrastructure
* Design and optimize scalable solutions for high-traffic web applications
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
* Ensure the platform meets performance, reliability, and scalability standards
This role is on a fully remote and distributed team, and asynchronous communication within and across teams is crucial. Wix has a beautiful office in Dublin should you want to work from an office space.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in senior platform engineering roles
* Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and Python. Experience with JVM languages (Java, Scala) or PHP is a plus.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to understand the needs of teams responsible for OLAP, OLTP, and machine learning infrastructure.
* Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable service architectures. Bonus points for experience decoupling services from existing monolithic applications.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines.
