Leadership Opportunity in Care of the Older Person

\

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record in management and leadership, with experience in care of the older person. As a Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality care to residents and their families.

\

Responsibilities:

\
1. Demonstrate Governance & Leadership in the management of the care centre
\
2. Maintain compliance with HIQA Regulations
\
3. Promote and oversee the delivery of holistic, person-centred care
\
4. Lead the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and seamless care
\
5. Communicate with relevant teams regarding ongoing operations
\
6. Undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards
\
7. Facilitate Training & Education for all staff
\
8. Implement and amend policies and procedures in line with current guidelines
\
9. Create and promote open communication, healthy working relationships, and stimulate initiatives among the team
\
10. Motivate team members by agreeing goals and objectives through performance review
\
11. Responsible for Risk Management, Health & Safety, IPC, Management of Complaints & Incidents in line with company Policy
\
12. Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of care provided
\
13. Collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals and objectives
\
14. Ensure excellence in Governance, Management & Leadership
\
15. Manage the team supported by the ADON
\
16. Implement and maintain effective communication channels within the team and with external agencies
\
17. Identify and address areas for improvement within the care centre
\
18. Develop and maintain partnerships with external agencies to enhance the services offered
\
19. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures
\
20. Make informed decisions based on data and evidence
\
21. Take responsibility for the overall direction and strategy of the care centre
\
22. Represent the care centre at meetings and events as required
\
23. Develop and implement plans to achieve short-term and long-term goals
\
24. Coordinate the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
\
25. Provide guidance and support to staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
\
26. Identify and address any gaps in training or development opportunities
\
27. Recruit, train, and develop staff members to meet the needs of the care centre
\
28. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff members
\
29. Build strong relationships with staff members, residents, and their families to ensure a positive and supportive environment
\
30. Provide exceptional customer service to residents and their families
\
31. Respond promptly to resident concerns and complaints
\
32. Resolve conflicts and issues in a fair and respectful manner
\
33. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident information, including medical history, medication, and care plans
\
34. Develop and implement systems to ensure the accuracy and completeness of resident records
\
35. Ensure confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive resident information
\
36. Comply with data protection laws and regulations
\
37. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with residents, staff members, and external agencies
\
38. Attend training and development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge
\
39. Participate in peer reviews and performance evaluations
\
40. Seek feedback from residents, staff members, and external agencies to identify areas for improvement
\
41. Use feedback to make improvements and developments to policies, procedures, and practices
\
42. Develop and implement a system to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of changes made
\
43. Communicate changes and updates to staff members and external agencies
\
44. Ensure that all changes are implemented in accordance with company policies and procedures
