We are seeking a seasoned retail professional to fill the role of Department Manager. As a people leader, you will be responsible for developing teams, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
The ideal candidate has substantial experience in managing high-volume fashion or grocery retail operations, with a proven track record of success in team development, sales growth, and operational leadership.
Main Responsibilities:
* Coach and support team members to reach their full potential, recognizing individual achievements and addressing performance gaps.
* Drive sales growth and profitability within the store through effective merchandising, inventory management, and visual displays.
* Oversee operational and people leadership activities within the store, including recruitment, onboarding, pay accuracy, absence management, and career progression.
* Support the Store Manager in enhancing operational and commercial performance, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting employee engagement.
* Raise performance through coaching and development, ensuring that all team members have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their roles.
Requirements:
* Proven experience managing high-volume retail operations in Food or Fashion retailing.
* Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* People leadership, recruitment, and development experience, with a focus on talent acquisition and retention.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret sales data and drive performance improvement.
* Ability to work effectively across departments, such as Fashion, Home, and Food.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
