Senior Cloud Negotiator

The role of the Senior Cloud Negotiator involves guiding clients in acquiring and negotiating on-premises software- and cloud deals. As part of a broader, collaborative team, they will conduct research in contract negotiation best practices, especially for Oracle.

This includes analyzing proposals and providing corresponding negotiation strategies, pricing, and contracting. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge to guide Gartner clients in buying and negotiating on-premises software- and cloud deals.

Responsibilities:

* Analyze on-premises / cloud proposals and provide negotiation strategy, pricing, and contracting guidance.
">
* Conduct innovative, fact-based research and analysis around client key initiatives and specific areas of expertise.
">
* Collaborate on published research and develop industry following as a subject matter expert.
">
* Provide high-quality peer review of other analysts' research.
">
* Lead or participate in research meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate with peers.
">
* Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across teams of analysts.
">
* Cover specified areas and adjacent areas while maintaining a view across a broad spectrum of the market.
">
* Engage C-Level executives and front-line sourcing and procurement personnel effectively.
">
* Create materials for clients, delivered in person, via video conference, or webinar.
">
* Support Gartner analysts and internal stakeholders across relevant research initiatives and client calls.
">
* Maintain a high client focus with progressively improving customer experience.

* Help drive proactive engagement and progress against critical priorities.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
">

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
">
* 8-10 years experience; Minimum 5 years of relevant field- or industry experience.

* Recent experience with hands-on negotiation, negotiation strategies, software license compliance risk assessment, management, and/or mitigation, especially with Oracle.
">
* Exceptional analytical skills and ability to apply conceptual models.

* Strong market research skills, proven in a procurement, asset management, or negotiator role.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse global team.

* Strong project planning, management, and organizational skills.
">
* Strong written and verbal interaction, including engaging clients and responding effectively to questions.

* Excellent presentation skills, including performing well on-stage and in smaller groups.
