Role Overview: We have an immediate vacancy for a proactive and self-motivated Finance Officer. The position will report into the Head of Finance. The Finance Officer will be responsible for a variety of processes within the finance department, along with administrative duties. The Finance Officer will play a key role in the development of the finance department and the successful delivery of an effective and efficient finance department within Ballina Credit Union. The Finance Officer will work in conjunction with numerous teams across the credit union. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities Process and keep accurate records for all daily transactions Reconciliation of daily banking transactions Process invoices Update internal systems with financial data Reconcile bank statements both daily and monthly Review and implement financial policies & procedures Data gathering and processing Contribute to a strong control environment within the financial department, ensuring that key controls and reconciliation processes are kept up to date. Any other ad hoc projects as requested by the Head of Finance To assist the Head of Finance in the following areas: Review and Implementation of best practice financial policies & procedures. Adherence to Financial Governance & compliance. production of monthly management and annual accounts. Preparation and updating of projections in accordance with Strategic plan. Preparation of annual budgets. Preparation of regulatory and financial returns to third parties to include the Central Bank and Revenue Coordination of both internal and external auditors Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports Submission ofstatutory returns and regulatory reporting Preparation of the Loan book review in accordance with the loan provisioning policy. Maintenance of Investment schedules and postings of investment movements. DBI Quarterly premium calculations. Preparation of Finance reports for AGM and review all financial data in members' booklet. facilitate the interim and annual audit with external auditors. Desirable Skills: Previous experience in Accounts receivable/payable and IATI or similar an advantage (3 years experience) with the aim of pursuing a career in Accounting in the Financial Services Sector Strong excel, administrative, organisational and business support skill Accounting systems e.g. Sage 50 experience. Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure Attention to detail and good judgement showing logical decision making and handson approach Be proficient in preparing and analysing monthly financial accounts and statutory returns within pre-set deadlines High standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
