We are looking for an
Engineering Manager
to lead a team that will own and shape the peer to peer marketplace across both DoneDeal and Adverts. This is a rare opportunity to make an impact at a huge scale, with your work directly influencing how millions of individuals in Ireland connect and transact online.
Your team will own some of the most important parts of our marketplaces: user trust and safety, fraud prevention, user accounts, ad creation, private seller monetisation and provide support and tooling for our world-class CX team. Put simply: you'll be building the future of Ireland's largest online marketplaces — making it safer, smarter, more successful and more rewarding for millions.
What will I be doing
* Partnering with Product, Sales and Design/UX to define a vision and strategy for your team
* Leading the execution of your team's roadmap and pragmatically solving bumps along the way
* Where necessary, getting into the details of problems to ensure we are building solutions in the right way
* Help coordinate delivery priorities, unblock teams, align solutions to our technology strategy and guide new feature development.
* Exploring generative AI opportunities to help build better products faster
* Leading by example to set a culture of empowerment, accountability and ownership throughout the Engineering team
* Monitoring team cadence and efficiency, surfacing operational insights and driving continuous improvements
* Developing and mentoring the Engineers on your team, with a focus on career and personal growth
What skills and experience do I need
* A track record of at least 3 years running Engineering teams, with experience in leading through ambiguity and uncertainty
* A technical background and familiar with modern approaches to software development and practices
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to set clear goals and the right context
* A results-oriented nature and passionate about continuous improvement - of people, processes and technology
* Successfully recruited and developed phenomenal people and championed a great team culture of driving impact, growth and technical excellence
