Research Scientist Position

We are seeking a skilled researcher to join our team in the Faculty of Engineering at SETU Carlow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing novel materials synthesis techniques with computational chemistry for the development of hybridised organic/inorganic molecules.

* Apply advanced materials synthesis techniques with computational chemistry for the development of hybridised organic/inorganic molecules.
* Collaborate across scientific areas such as digital and chemical syntheses, analytical chemistry, high-throughput screening, chemical engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, and computational chemistry.
* Conduct research relevant to solving problems that can be published externally.

Responsibilities

* Work 35 hours per week with additional hours required from time to time.
* Contribute to the development of smart materials for cold-chain management technologies.
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve research goals.

Requirements

* PhD in Chemistry or related field.
* Experience in synthetic and/or computational chemistry.
* Strong knowledge of computational chemistry and materials synthesis.
