Overview
The post of CNM 2 Emergency Department has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, people management, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership. The CNM II is a critical clinical front line post and is required to safeguard patient care. The CNM II manages the Emergency Department from a leadership and administrative perspective.

Essential Criteria
Each candidate must on closing date for applications:
Professional Qualifications & Experience
* Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered
And
* Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the speciality or related area of Emergency Medicine.
And
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
And
* Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
Annual Registration
Appointment to and continuation in posts that require statutory registration is dependent upon the post holder maintaining annual registration in the relevant division of the register maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland)
And
Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate [PSAC]
Post Specific Requirements:
Completed Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing.
