Senior Financial Controller – Europe

Jones Engineering is looking to hire a Senior Financial Controller to join our team at the headquarters in Pembroke Road, Dublin 4. The role is full‑time and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The primary responsibility is the management of the financial operations of nine European subsidiary entities within the group, working closely with the Irish team of financial controllers and Directors, as well as various other departments. The candidate will supervise Irish‑based accountants, accounts payable staff, and all users of the SAP ERP system.
Lead the financial operations across multiple European entities, including period‑end close, monthly reporting and cash flow requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant local GAAPs, oversee statutory accounts, tax filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, Payroll) and coordinate with external auditors.
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll (shadow and direct) and general accounting operations.
Maintain a strong internal controls framework, risk management processes and audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with supply chain regulations across all jurisdictions.
Manage Transfer Pricing requirements including review of annual master and local files.
Set up new legal entities as required.
Identify and drive process improvements within the finance function.
Collaborate with Irish finance, Legal and HR teams on cross‑functional areas such as project performance, cash flow, global mobility and people compliance.
Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with operational project and senior leadership teams.
Manage outsourced service providers.
Drive team performance, including coaching and mentoring team members.
Support strategic initiatives and other finance projects as required.
Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 10 years of post‑qualification experience.
Experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to mentor, coach and develop peers and direct reports.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and as a team player.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
