About the Company
Our client is an established construction services company specialising in the delivery of full turnkey Data Centre projects across Europe. Following significant growth in recent years and a strong forward order book, the company is expanding its European operations and is now seeking an experienced Operations / Contracts Director to lead project delivery and drive operational excellence across the region.
This is a key senior leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and scale a rapidly growing European business.
Role Overview
The Operations / Contracts Director will take overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and commercial performance of multiple Data Centre projects across Europe,
Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide strategic direction to project teams, ensure world-class delivery standards, maintain strong client relationships, and support the company's continued expansion across key European markets.
The role requires weekly travel to live project sites across France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Spain.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
· Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple Data Centre projects across Europe.
· Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractor teams to drive high performance.
· Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and within agreed budgets.
· Develop and implement robust operational processes to support growth toward €100m+ turnover.
Project & Contracts Management
· Provide senior-level oversight of contracts, commercial matters, and client agreements.
· Review and approve project programmes, procurement strategies, risk assessments, and budgets.
· Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and applicable European regulations.
· Oversee subcontractor performance, claims, variations, and commercial reporting across projects.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
· Act as the senior point of contact for key Data Centre clients.
· Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to support repeat business.
· Represent the company at high-level client, consultant, and stakeholder meetings across Europe.
Performance & Growth Support
· Work closely with senior leadership on business development, tender reviews, and entry into new European markets.
· Identify operational improvements to enhance productivity, safety, quality, and profitability.
· Support recruitment, succession planning, and team development in line with business growth.
Requirements
Essential
· Proven experience delivering full Data Centre construction projects.
· Strong background in construction operations, contracts management, or senior project leadership.
· Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites and countries.
· Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project costs, risks, and margins.
· Willingness to travel weekly across Europe (Sun/Mon-Thu).
Desirable
· Previous experience working on projects across Europe.
· Experience scaling operations within a fast-growing construction or services business.
· Track record of building long-term client relationships within the Data Centre sector.
