As an Security Business Analyst in the Virgin Media Ireland Cyber Security Team to take responsibility for providing metrics and ensures Security, Governance, Risk and Technical Security Compliance across our IT and physical environments.
This role requires someone who can gather and analyze data to develop and investigate potential solutions to assess how organizations are performing and help them improve their processes and systems. Also conduct research and analysis in order to come up with solutions to business problems and help to introduce these solutions to businesses liaising with internal IT groups within Virgin Media Ireland and Liberty Global, as well leveraging external security expertise. You will be required to assess and assist in the enforcement of Information Security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements
Specific Duties & Tasks:
* Administer and monitor security solutions used within Virgin Media Ireland and provide key KPI’s to the business.
* Using data modelling techniques to identify ways in which an organisation can operate more effectively.
* Communicate with senior people in organisations to find out what they hope to achieve
* Formulate ways for businesses to improve, based on previous research
* Persuade internal and external stakeholders of the benefits of new technology or strategies
* Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems
* Run workshops and training sessions
* Exploring how the organisation is currently operating via research, which could include interviewing employees and collecting quantitative data
* Explore different solutions, their risks, benefits and impacts
* Proposing solutions to an organisation’s leaders, and keeping them updated with progress
* Creating documents to outline the proposed changes and the steps involved.
* Ensuring the changes are made – for example, by overseeing the implementation of new technology or a new approach
* Maintain, enhance, and contribute to the documentation around security tools, processes & procedures
* Auditing of Virgin Media’s security capabilities, governance within functions and our compliance and industry recommendations
* Liaise with the various Virgin Media Ireland business units to ensure data protection policies are followed and all implemented business processes align with the company's security policies.
* Own delivery of the company's wider information security strategy and data governance.
Skills & Expertise:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
* Understanding of tools like Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Agile Project Management, Jira, Machine Lernaning technologies, Microsoft vision is advantageous.
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
* Strong reporting capabilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies and software development lifecycle.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Knowledge of relevant tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
* Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is advantageous.
* Understanding of Information security management best practices, including knowledge of policies and standards (ISO27001, NIST, 27005, 22301, SOX, SOC, CIS Framework PCI-DSS or equivalent) is advantageous.
* Possess a good understanding of risk management, security architecture, common design flaws/weaknesses, and vulnerability analysis
* Must have broad understanding of IT infrastructure at a network, server, and endpoint level
The Person:
* Must be capable of providing easy to understand documentation and training materials supporting the security infrastructure and associated security capabilities
* Must be a team player and be able to interact effectively with other colleagues and stakeholders to accomplish common tasks
* Must have the ability to complete all job functions with minimal supervision
* Must be able to adhere to the regular work schedule and be willing to support incident response needs as required, which may occur outside of regular business hours
* Able to provide leadership in complex situations spanning business units and operating companies
* Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders in the context of improving Security processes and practices
* Experience in presenting findings, making recommendations, and articulating at a senior management level
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
