Why this role
If you're a pharmacist looking for a role that's a bit different from the typical community pharmacy, this is worth a look.
Healthwave is Ireland's first digital pharmacy. We dispense to patients nationwide from our Dublin hub, with no walk-in queues, no late evenings, and no weekend shifts.
Patients interact with us by chat and phone, our dispensing is supported by a robotic PillPod system, and we run on Touchstore.
Over the last 12 months we've become one of Ireland's largest dispensers of GLP-1 weight loss treatments, working with leading online doctor partners, which has added cold chain dispensing and significant volume growth to the operation.
You'd be joining a team of 20 people (pharmacists, technicians, and patient care colleagues) in a business that's growing quickly and investing in the technology to bring the best possible pharmacy experience to Irish patients.
What you'll do
As a support pharmacist, you'll work alongside peer pharmacists and the wider dispensing team to keep prescriptions moving safely and efficiently. Day to day, this includes:
Clinically checking prescriptions across HSE schemes (GMS, DPS, LTI, HTD) and private prescriptions
Dispensing and final-checking prescriptions for home delivery patients across Ireland
Supporting our cold chain GLP-1 dispensing operation, one of the fastest-growing parts of the business
Counselling patients over chat, email and phone using Healthwave's customer support system
Working across our home delivery service and PillPod robotic dispensing system
Liaising with online doctor partners and GPs on prescription queries
Supporting the monthly HSE claim process
Mentoring pharmacy students during their placements
We're flexible on exactly how the role develops for the right person. Tell us what areas of pharmacy interest you most.
Who we're looking for
You're a PSI-registered pharmacist, recent graduates are welcomed
You've worked in an Irish pharmacy setting, whether through pre-registration training, locum work, or a permanent role
You're comfortable with the HSE schemes and the clinical checking that goes with them
You're confident counselling patients, even when it's by phone or chat rather than face to face
You like working in a team, you're not fazed by technology, and you want to work somewhere that does things a bit differently
If you're a new graduate who spent your student placements in a busy dispensary, we'd genuinely like to hear from you. We'll give you the support and mentoring to grow into the role.
What we offer
A growing team of pharmacists in a tech-forward Irish pharmacy business
3 or 4 day working week (your choice)
Pharmacy closes 1pm to 2pm for lunch every day
No late evenings, no weekends
€40 to €42 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
Generous in-store staff discount
Dundrum staff discount scheme
Employee Assistance Programme
Convenient location directly across from the Balally Luas stop
