The job requires an undergraduate degree in physics and a PhD in experimental particle physics from a leading research-intensive university. The appointee will be expected to undertake a research programme of international repute, complementing and broadening existing research in the School that includes electroweak and top physics, diffraction and ultra-peripheral collisions.
The successful candidate will actively seek funding at national and international levels, show leadership in building their research group, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, supervise research students in our MSc and PhD programmes, and establish collaborations with research groups in the School of Physics or elsewhere in UCD and beyond.
The job involves teaching and coordinating elements of the School's BSc and MSc taught programmes, including classroom and laboratory teaching, project and group-work supervision, as well as inter-programme teaching. The appointee will contribute to the enhancement of teaching, learning, assessment and the overall student experience.
