The Job
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge automation solutions, focusing on electrical design and compliance with industrial machinery safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include designing and integrating electrical systems for mobile robotics, six-axis robotics, servo drives, and custom machinery, while ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and directives.
This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in industrial machinery safety, electrical design, and risk assessment, who thrives on delivering high-quality solutions and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Development
Create detailed electrical designs for advanced automation projects, including mobile robotics, six-axis robotic systems, servo drives, and custom machinery solutions.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using software such as SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, or AutoCAD.
Integrate electrical systems with mechanical and software components to ensure seamless operation and compliance with safety standards.
Safety & Compliance
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards in machinery and equipment designs.
Ensure all electrical designs comply with industrial standards and directives.
Implement and document safety systems to meet ISO requirements.
Project Execution
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including robotics engineers, mechanical designers, and software developers, to deliver fully integrated automation solutions.
Participate in design reviews, ensuring electrical systems meet functional, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and debugging to verify the functionality and safety of delivered systems.
Component Selection & Procurement
Identify and source appropriate electrical components, including drives, sensors, power supplies, and control devices, ensuring they meet project specifications and cost targets.
Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and select components suitable for advanced automation and robotic applications.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical drawings, risk assessment reports, test plans, and user manuals.
Develop validation protocols and ensure thorough documentation of test results to meet compliance standards and facilitate system handover.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Skills & Knowledge/Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation or related fields.
Hands-on experience with electrical design software, such as SolidWorks Electrical or EPLAN.
Strong knowledge of industrial machinery safety systems and compliance with standards and directives.
Proven experience working with robotic systems, servo drives, and custom machine designs.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with components such as AC/DC motors, servo systems, sensors, power distribution systems, and control panels.
Understanding of functional safety, risk assessment methodologies, and the integration of safety devices.
Experience conducting FMEA and documenting risk mitigation strategies.
