Description
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Lead to define, champion, and embed a modern, enterprise-wide quality strategy across a portfolio of digital products and platforms.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring quality is built into every stage of the product lifecycle, from discovery through to delivery and ongoing operations. You will act as the central authority on quality, partnering closely with senior stakeholders, product teams, and engineering functions to drive consistency, excellence, and delivery confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Governance
Define and own the enterprise QA and testing strategy aligned to business goals and product vision
Establish organisation-wide testing standards, frameworks, and governance models
Ensure consistent acceptance criteria, testing approaches, and release quality thresholds
Embed quality-by-design principles across the full product lifecycle
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a strategic QA partner to product and digital leadership teams
Collaborate on testing strategies, best practices, and release readiness governance
Provide expert guidance, coaching, and oversight to distributed QA teams
Drive consistent quality standards across multiple delivery streams
Quality Engineering & Automation
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise test automation strategies
Drive adoption of shift-left testing and continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines
Establish automated frameworks across functional, regression, performance, security, and reliability testing
Product & Delivery Integration
Partner with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to embed quality from inception
Define acceptance criteria, "definition of ready", and "definition of done" standards
Support agile teams with test planning, sprint reviews, and release validation
Release, Risk & Compliance
Own release quality governance, including go/no-go decisions
Implement risk-based testing strategies for business-critical systems
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and regulatory standards
Leadership & Capability Development
Build and lead a high-performing QA and test engineering capability
Develop skills frameworks, training programmes, and communities of practice
Promote a culture of shared ownership of quality across teams
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
8+ years’ experience in QA or quality engineering, including leadership roles
Proven track record of leading QA strategy across complex, multi-team environments
Strong hands-on expertise in:
Test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, RestAssured)
API and integration testing
CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
Performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling)
Experience working closely with business stakeholders to define and implement quality governance
