Essential: Applicants must be registered in the Register of Medical Practitioners, maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland, in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Act **** or equivalent.
Applicants must have significant experience of working in Cardiology Applicants must have significant experience of working in cardiac catheterisation laboratory including experience in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, as assessed by the Director of the Cath Lab at the Mater Private Network Desirable: Experience It is desirable that applicants have scientific publications / abstracts in the field of interventional cardiology, cardiology, vascular biology Knowledge of clinical research methodologies and techniques Experience with database systems and statistical analysis software Project Management Organisation Balancing the demands of multiple guidelines projects at various development stages Working collaboratively and to tight timelines.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, etc.
Teamwork Communication Ability to work independently, self-directed, but also work well within a multidisciplinary team under supervision and direction Excellent communication across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Interpersonal skills required to integrate as part of a diverse research team and ability to relate to a broad spectrum of research participants Excellent oral and written communication skills Key Duties and Responsibilities The Clinical / Research Fellow will work within both the Heart Vascular Department and in the Cardiovascular Research Institute Dublin as part of the research team.
Clinical Duties will include: Provide cover in the Cath Lab and assistance to the rostered Consultant Cardiologist Provide cover to the cardiology fellow / registrar on-call rota, including cover to Urgent Cardiac Care (UCC) as rostered Provide cover for the clinical inpatient service from time to time at the direction of the Director of Cardiology / Director of Cath Lab Attend weekly departmental meetings including: Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting, DCRF Organise / attend weekly Journal Club Adhere to all Mater Private Hospital policies on clinical practice To carry out other duties as appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Cardiology / Director of Cath Lab Research Responsibilities will include: Active participation (recruitment, procedure, data collection) in research studies of the department Produce academic papers and abstracts Write book chapters Systematic literature reviews PubMed Searches Data Analysis and interpretation Work within the standard operating procedures and research protocols associated with industry and academic clinical research activities in accordance with ICH-GCP To ensure patient confidentiality and dignity is assured and maintained at all times during a research project, in line with data protection legislation To complete all ethical and regulatory procedures (submissions, query resolution etc.) for the research Ensure all assigned studies are completed to the highest standards in accordance with ICHGCP, HPRA/EU Directive requirements Educational Dissemination Responsibilities will include: Format manuscripts and prepare for journal admission Deliver presentations on research output Page 3 of 3 Submit and manage manuscript submissions online Attend relevant national and international scientific meetings Carry out project design, delivery and management Provide education to Consultants, Fellows, and other MPH staff Develop grant application THE MATER PRIVATE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES EMPLOYEE
