Mayo Contract: 2-year Fixed Term Contract Hours: 35 per week - This position normally operates Monday through to Friday (35 hrs per week). Given the nature of this role, there will be times when the post holder will be required to work outside these hours Reference Number 2025-134 Closing date: June 23rd, 2025 Job Brief The purpose for this role is to develop and implement a strategic plan for fundraising activities for the organisation. The post will be responsible for planning and delivering initiatives and events that will be income generating. Main Responsibilities Please see details of Key Duties & Responsibilities in Job Description below Applicant Requirements Education qualifications A third-level qualification (Level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications) in a relevant field e.g. Business, Event Management, Marketing & Public Relations Essential criteria Candidates must be skilled in the effective use of social media and communication platforms. Candidates are expected to have a proven ability to achieve agreed fundraising targets. Have at least 2 years' experience in a fundraising role. Be able to demonstrate strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Desirable criteria Proven research skills with an ability to gather, analyse and process information from multiple sources. Understanding of fundraising best practices and charities' compliance An ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills Full Clean Driving License is essential for the role. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and other relevant communication tools and platforms. Recruitment Requirements All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.U. will be required to provide relevant work authorization to take up employment in Republic of Ireland. Purpose: The purpose for this role is to develop and implement a strategic plan for fundraising activities for the organisation. The post will be responsible for planning and delivering initiatives and events that will be income generating. Key Responsibilities of the Role Fundraising Develop a calendar of significant regular income generating events and support the operation of these events. Drive the development of philanthropy / donor opportunities/networks Develop and implement strategies to increase individual donations. Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping. Establish a charitable foundation for the Organisation. Engage with community groups and volunteers to support local fundraising initiatives. Organise and manage community fundraising events. Develop and distribute fundraising materials to support community efforts. Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders. Monitor and report on fundraising progress against targets. Stay informed about fundraising trends and best practices. Collaborate with other departments to integrate fundraising activities with overall organisational goals. Corporate Connections Develop a corporate prospect pipeline by identifying and cultivating relationships with corporate partners to generate new income generating opportunities. Manage corporate fundraising campaigns and events. Work with corporations and social enterprises to support their corporate responsibility goals. Ensure effective communication and recognition for corporate donors. Grants Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organisation's mission and strategic objectives. Establish a comprehensive programme to secure multi-year funding from grant-making organisations and EU Funding sources. Manage grant application process including data gathering, submission, follow up and reporting requirements. Cultivate and maintain relationships with both National and International organisations, donors and stakeholders to maximise access to grants. Systems Develop and maintain systems to manage donors, events and other relevant information in line with GDPR rules. Monitor and manage associated budgets Ensure all fundraising activities are conducted in line with legislation and current best practice principles. Working Relationships and Communication: Develop and contribute to good working relationships in the Organisation and with all other relevant personnel. Report to and appraise line manager or designate of all work-related issues and difficulties. Follow the Association's Grievance and Disciplinary Procedure, available on the Association's intranet. Maintain strict confidentiality relating to matters regarding personnel and services. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings as required. Actively participate in supervisory support as per Organisation Procedure. Be familiar with and operate within relevant local and organisational procedure, directives and general information made available through the line manager. General: Promote and develop good community networks which support people we support inclusion and integration. Promote a positive image and name of the Association in the wider community. Be accountable and responsible for input into service planning and delivery, together with job performance as per role within the Association. Promote dignity at work and show respect to people we support, colleagues and stakeholders in the course of duty. Act in a confidential manner when dealing with personal information relating to people we support, families and staff. Attend staff training events as required and implement learning in the workplace. Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the line manager. Roster: This position normally operates Monday through to Friday (35 hrs per week). Given the nature of this role, there will be times when the post holder will be required to work outside these hours. Salary Grade Attached to the Role: Grade VII (€54,123 - €70,972) Duration: This will be a two-year fixed term contract post.
