OverviewAddiction Counselor Salary: $50,000-$55,000 Tuesday-9am to 5pm
Wednesday-1pm to 9pm
Thursday-9am to 5pm
Friday-9am to 5pm
Saturday 9am to 5pm

The RoleUnder general direction, the Addiction Counselor is an integral member of the clinical team and serves as the primary counselor to a caseload of substance use disorder patients.
The Addiction Counselor will manage a caseload of patients, provide individual and group counseling, conduct assessments, coordinate services, psycho-education, referrals, and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Additionally, the Addiction Counselor Assistant will provide administrative and case management support within residential treatment programs.
Responsibilities include assisting with sample swabs, screenings, orientation, intake, psycho-education, referrals, reporting, recordkeeping, co-facilitating groups, and basic crisis intervention.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor, tailored to patients' physical, medical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to support patients' recovery, working collaboratively with patients and treatment team members.Provide clinical consultation to referral sources, mentors, family members, and others to support patient recovery.Engage with patients to involve them in decision-making and help them understand assessment benefits and appropriate care levels.Review referral information and coordinate with referral sources to support service delivery and schedule patient interviews.Make referrals based on assessments to ensure patients access appropriate programs and services.Assist patients with scheduling admissions or initial appointments at referred programs or facilities.Monitor patient engagement with treatment and address barriers to recovery.QualificationsWho You Will Be High School Diploma or EquivalentOR Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related fieldOR Master's Degree in Human Services or a related fieldAt least one (1) year of experience working with clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD)Knowledge and/or training in Trauma-Informed Care and organizational treatment approachesExperience working with individuals with co-occurring disordersUnderstanding of laws regarding personnel and client confidentiality
