This is a service delivery role in a busy acute medical department, providing care for a wide range of patients while developing clinical expertise in internal medicine and its subspecialties.

€68,209, €70836, €75,286, €77,799, €80,323
2. Additional remuneration for on-call duties and overtime as applicable depending on rota

5. Hours: 37 hours per week, plus on-call supplements
6. The current vacancy available is temporary (12 months) and full-time.
Key Responsibilities
7. Participate in the care of acutely unwell medical patients in the Emergency Department, Medical Assessment Unit, and on inpatient wards.
8. Conduct and document patient assessments, request investigations, formulate treatment plans, and perform necessary procedures under supervision.
Education and Training:
9. Participate actively in departmental educational sessions including case presentations, journal clubs, and grand rounds.
10. Support the supervision and teaching of interns and medical students.
11. Maintain a logbook and portfolio in line with training requirements (e.g. BST/HST programmes through RCPI).
12. Attend relevant courses and contribute to clinical audits and research projects where possible
13. Participate in consultant-led ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and outpatient clinics as assigned.
14. Provide continuous care during on-call shifts in a shared rota covering acute and general medical patients.
15. Work collaboratively with colleagues across medical specialties including cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and geriatric medicine.
Requirements to Apply
16. Full registration in place with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
17. Must have not worked for HSE Ireland in the past 36 months?
18. Must not have applied directly to HSE for any job opportunities?
19. A minimum of 24 months post-internship clinical experience is required.
20. Have an IELTS / OET Certificate? If yes, please confirm the pass rate
21. Have a current International Police Certificate
22. Able to take up the appointment by Aug/Sep 2025

23. Prior experience working in an Irish or UK healthcare setting.
24. Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives.
