Key Responsibilities
Electrical BIM Delivery & Technical Ownership
Lead the development, management, and governance of electrical BIM models in Revit in accordance with project BIM Execution Plans, client standards, and industry best practice
Model complex electrical systems including containment strategies, power distribution, equipment layouts, earthing, and lighting systems appropriate for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities
Deliver fully coordinated electrical layouts and construction-ready drawings supporting detailed design, construction, installation, and commissioning phases
Ensure model accuracy, robustness, audit readiness, and compliance with version control and data management requirements throughout the project lifecycle
Act as a technical authority for electrical BIM content, standards, and modelling approaches
Multidisciplinary Coordination & Clash Management
Lead the coordination of electrical models with mechanical, process, HVAC, architectural, automation, and structural disciplines within a federated BIM environment
Plan, execute, and oversee clash detection and resolution processes using Navisworks or equivalent platforms
Chair or actively contribute to coordination, clash resolution, and model review meetings, providing clear electrical direction and driving resolution of interface issues
Implement and verify agreed coordination outcomes within the electrical model, ensuring constructability and installation feasibility
Design Integration & Engineering Interface
Interpret and translate electrical schematics, single line diagrams, load schedules, layouts, and vendor documentation into accurate and constructible BIM outputs
Ensure alignment between electrical engineering deliverables, BIM models, and downstream construction documentation
Undertake technical reviews of electrical models and drawings to verify design intent, constructability, safety, and compliance with GMP, GEP, and client QA requirements
Support design development by identifying interface risks, spatial constraints, and system integration challenges at an early stage
Interfaces, Stakeholder & Project Support
Act as the primary BIM interface for electrical engineering within the project team, liaising with discipline leads, BIM managers, contractors, and vendors
Manage the integration, validation, and coordination of vendor and contractor electrical models into the federated project model
Support project controls, digital delivery strategies, and information exchange processes in line with project and client expectations
Leadership, Development & Continuous Improvement
Mentor and technically guide intermediate and junior electrical modellers, promoting best practices and consistent modelling standards
Drive continuous improvement of electrical BIM workflows, content libraries, and digital delivery processes
Contribute to lessons learned, innovation initiatives, and the advancement of BIM capability within the organisation and across projects
