About MJ Wright: We\'re a brand-new gastro pub opening soon in the heart of Dublin City, blending great pints, classic pub food with a sprinkle of modernity, live sport, and live music all served up with a warm Dublin welcome. Our beautiful Victorian building also houses fantastic function rooms, perfect for private parties, business gatherings, corporate events and special occasions.
The Role
We\'re looking for a Sales & Events Coordinator who\'s passionate about people, brimming with ideas, and ready to help us put MJ Wrights on the map as one of Dublin\'s go-to spots for memorable events. You\'ll be the driving force behind selling and developing our function room business. From building relationships with tour operators, local businesses and event organisers, to representing us at networking events and industry gatherings, you\'ll be our face in the community. This is a role for someone who loves Dublin\'s buzz, thrives on meeting new people, and can turn a casual chat into a confirmed booking.
Key Responsibilities
* Sell and develop our function rooms for private and corporate events, ensuring we meet revenue targets.
* Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organisations, and key partners.
* Represent MJ Wright at industry and networking events (e.g. Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Failte Ireland events).
* Work closely with our management, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure events run smoothly from enquiry to execution.
* Create and deliver engaging proposals tailored to client needs.
* Keep an eye on market trends and competitor activity to spot new opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of enquiries, leads, and bookings.
* Help develop promotional materials and campaigns for our events offering.
* Cross promote where applicable across The Wright Group, for example, The Bloody Stream, Wrights Findlater Howth and Wrights Anglers Rest.
What We\'re Looking For
* Experience in sales, events, or hospitality (ideally all three!).
* A natural networker - confident starting conversations and building rapport.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
* Flexible schedule - some evening and weekend work will be part of the job to ensure client events run smoothly.
* A genuine love for Dublin\'s pub and hospitality culture.
