We have an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer. This role will support our client's design engineering team. You'll work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders across design, construction, and sustainability to help support design activities of new build data centres across EMEA.

1. This role is based on site in Dublin 5 days per week
2. Some travel to sites across EMEA may be required
3. You need to have EU Citizenship or a Valid Work permit for Ireland
Key Responsibilities
* Support general HVAC/ Mechanical design activities for critical infrastructure within new build data centres across EMEA.
* Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
* Review and approve equipment submittals
* Manage design consultancy firms to create, review and release data centre designs
* Work with internal teams to understand user requirements
* Work with internal teams to trouble shoot problems and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) for design related problems
* Define project scopes and provide support during construction phases
* Work with regional vendors and manufactures to specify the appropriate mechanical equipment
* Travel for site review and conduct engineering evaluations, audits, and site launches
* Participate in knowledge-sharing, learn AWS-specific standards
* Be positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutions
Qualifications/Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or related field
* 5+ years' experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building services
* Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data centre equipment and facilities
* Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/construction
* The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high level review
* Experience directly related to data centre or mission critical facility design such as Pharmaceutical, Hospital or Semi-Conductor projects. Understanding of BIM & CFD modelling
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
