Our client, a well-established Irish retail business and part of an international group, is hiring a Head of Compliance for their Dublin head office.This would be a 12 month fixed term contract and requires PCF 12 approval.RoleThe Head of Compliance is responsible for leading the compliance function for the Irish operations, ensuring the business operates in accordance with applicable Irish regulatory requirements and internal group policies. The role will oversee the compliance framework, provide regulatory guidance to senior management, and maintain effective engagement with relevant regulatory developments.The position reports functionally to the Group Head of Compliance and locally supports the Irish senior management team and Board through oversight, advisory support, and governance reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Framework & OversightMaintain and oversee the compliance framework for the Irish business, ensuring alignment with group policies and applicable Irish regulatory requirements.Provide advice and guidance to business areas on regulatory obligations and compliance risks.Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations.Coordinate compliance monitoring activities and maintain appropriate records and documentation.Governance & Board ReportingPrepare and present compliance reports to the Irish Board, outlining regulatory developments, compliance monitoring outcomes, and key risk areas.Support governance committees and provide compliance insight into risk management and operational matters.Escalate material compliance issues to senior management and group compliance where necessary.Regulatory EngagementSupport regulatory interactions and maintain constructive relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland where required.Ensure the business meets its obligations under applicable regulatory frameworks.Maintain an appropriate awareness of anti-money laundering (AML)and financial crime requirements relevant to the business model.Monitor for any emerging risks in this area and ensure proportionate controls are maintained, recognising that AML exposure within the business is limited.Work closely with the International Head Office Compliance team to ensure alignment with group strategy and risk appetite.Support the implementation of group policies and regulatory initiatives within the Irish entity.Regulatory ResponsibilitiesThe role holder will perform the PCF-12 (Head of Compliance) function under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity regime.Skills & ExperienceSignificant experience in a compliance or regulatory role within financial services or consumer finance.Strong understanding of Irish regulatory expectations and governance frameworks.Experience preparing and presenting compliance reports to senior management and board-level stakeholders.Ability to interpret regulatory developments and translate them into practical business actions.Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work within a group reporting structure.Familiarity with consumer credit or retail financial services regulatory environments desired.Personal AttributesStrong judgement and integrity.Excellent communication and influencing skills.Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.Ability to operate independently while maintaining strong collaboration with group functions.Please get in touch with Patricia McCarthy for more information on;
