Mechanical / Electrical EngineerThe Mechanical / Electrical Engineer will play a key role in identifying and addressing performance deficits in critical mechanical and electrical assets across GMS Ltd Clients' operational facilities. The successful candidate will specify and oversee asset refurbishment or replacement works that restore and enhance the capacity, reliability and efficiency of key processes. They will apply best-practice asset management principles throughout the asset lifecycle, including acquisition, operation, maintenance and end-of-life planning.Interventions will be assessed, scoped and prioritised within available budgets. The overarching goal is to improve the condition and resilience of the asset base, delivering enhanced service performance, energy efficiency and reduced operating costs.The role will focus on mechanical and electrical systems across GMS Ltd Clients' facilities. By reviewing data and collaborating with internal teams, the engineer will develop a strong understanding of current asset performance and support the development of maintenance and capital investment plans.ResponsibilitiesAssess information relating to asset performance deficits identified by colleagues or cross-functional teams.Review site energy data, energy audit reports and other performance-related metrics.Review asset condition reports and identify priority areas for intervention.Specify the scope of energy audits, condition surveys or other data-gathering activities as required.Review pump curves and pump performance data to evaluate equipment suitability and energy performance.Analyse pump and mechanical equipment data to determine condition and refurbishment/replacement needs.Inspect high-energy-consuming assets such as compressors, blowers and critical rotating equipment.Develop prioritised refurbishment or replacement plans based on available budgets.Apply lessons learned and industry best practice to inform investment and procurement decisions.Manage documentation through internal planning and asset management systems.Support preventive maintenance programme development and asset monitoring procedures.Prepare technical reports on asset performance, safety and reliability.Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations and company policies.Collaborate with stakeholders across GMS Ltd Clients' organisations.Support adoption and implementation of ISO 50001 energy management standards.Skills & ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience; Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or trades-qualified professional.Experience with condition-based or planned maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments.Strong understanding of process safety management.Full clean Class B driver's licence.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Ability to engage stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.Job Type: Full-timePay: €34,799.12-€60,000.00 per yearApplication question(s):Are you trade qualified ?
