**Technical Director of Electrical Engineering Role Summary**
This senior leadership position oversees the development and implementation of electrical engineering strategies across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently, while driving innovation and improvement in design processes.
The Technical Director will work closely with the Director of Engineering and other stakeholders to determine how to consistently deliver high-quality design services across the organization. This role requires strong technical, commercial, and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Developing Electrical Engineering Strategies: Create and implement plans to forecast and plan required capability and capacity for electrical engineering across the organization.
* Digitalisation of Business Processes: Define and implement a strategy for continuous improvement of electrical engineering, including developing and improving the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform (SDP) as part of the Quality Management System (QMS).
* Governance of Design Delivery: Support key sales proposals, establish a 'watch list' of key projects, influence early stages of design, chair Single Discipline Design Reviews (SDDRs), and review Project Basis of Safety documents.
* Troubleshooting: Be a 'first responder' for critical issues regarding electrical engineering design, meet with senior members of both internal and customer teams, agree corrective actions, act as Technical Sponsor, and keep management updated on correction action progress.
Requirements:
* Passion for electrical engineering and safe asset focus.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 15 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 10 years working at a senior management level.
* Good working knowledge of pharma, med tech, and data center industries.
* Member of a recognized engineering professional body.
* Strong technical, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Fluent English language skills.
