Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is essential in maintaining high standards of financial processing, reporting, credit control and communications within the department and the wider organisation.This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their finance career within a supportive and growing business, working alongside the Financial Controller and Assistant Management Accountant in a varied and challenging role.Key ResponsibilitiesSales LedgerCheck sales invoices submitted by Operations for accuracy against client instructionsVerify invoice format, VAT and costs are correct where possibleIssue final pdf for Project Managers to send to clientsCode and post invoices to the ledger (Sage or Xero)Daily batching of invoices raisedReconciliation of invoices to batches and aged debtorsUpdate Finance and Invoice trackers in ExcelMaintain Sales Ledger customer accounts records, opening new accountsTake credit card payments over the phoneCredit ControlMonitor and react to Credit Control mailbox communicationsMaintain records of credit control activities and conversationsSend reminders to past-due debtsProvide holiday cover for the Assistant Management AccountantPurchase LedgerPrepare payments through online banking portalsEnsure accounts paid by Direct Debit have current and correct invoicesCheck and approve submitted credit card expensesPost expenses with receipts onlyCashbookBank cheques receivedCheck and post receipts, allocating to relevant invoicesMaintain bank reconciliations for multiple accounts in Excel and Sage 200Post non-supplier payments for Direct Debits to Purchase ledger and Nominal ledgerOther ResponsibilitiesBook-keeping for Republic of Ireland entity in XeroAssist with annual audit requirementsProvide holiday cover for other team membersMaintain, implement and suggest improvements to internal controls and proceduresSupport the Financial Controller with ad hoc requirementsSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseEssential RequirementsAAT qualification or trainingExperience of Sage 200 and SICON WAPExperience of Xero accounting softwareStrong Excel skillsExcellent written and spoken communication skillsAbility to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivatedHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailWhat We're Looking ForWe seek a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic finance environment.
