Paving and Walling - Dunboyne, Co. Meath, A86 W820Reporting to the Plant Managers, the role of the Production Supervisor is to ensure that all employees under their supervision working in accordance with their health & safety training at all times.
In addition to this they must supervise the productivity of these employees and ensure that operative's, plant & equipment work as efficiently as possible.A key part of this role is communication on production performance, issues and constraints with the rest of the Management team. Responsibilities:H&S Ensure that all operatives are working in accordance with their H&S training, SOP and risk assessments. Carry out toolbox talks with shifts when required. Help maintain training standards by conveying safety and standard operating procedures to staff when required. Report all H&S incidents, near misses, accidents, and observations. Close out any observations that have been assigned to you. Ensure that all employees are PPE compliant at all times. Carry out first aid checks in all areas under supervision. Ensure that all areas under supervision maintain high housekeeping standards at all times in plant and in changing/toilet/canteen facilities. People Monitor employee attendance and report any issues to Plant Manager. Review operator performance and assist in any further training required. Manage absenteeism on shift by swapping operators from other shifts if required. Report any operator behavioral issues to plant manager. Monitor all operator performance during plant breakdowns, ensuring that the downtime is utilized fully to ensure the plant is being maintained and the machines are repaired as efficiently as possible. Production Strive to ensure that all production targets are met. Manage operatives during plant downtime.
TPM, Plant and yard cleaning, along with any other outstanding jobs listed by plant managers are to be carried out during this time. Mobilise an efficient maintenance response to any plant breakdowns.
Ensure plant operators assist where possible. Manage cement, pigment, admixture & aggregates stocks across all plants ensuring that lack of raw materials do not affect production.
Report any stock issues to your plant manager. Communicate with loading shovel driver when raw materials are running low in any plant. Carry out plant and environmental checks regularly and record outcome. Ensure al TPM checks are carried out on each shift on a monthly basis. Supervise all prep for mould changes and product changes, ensuring a smooth transition from one product to another. Monitor when mould changes and raw material replenishment are carried out and implement ways to improve how they are performed. Complete an end of shift report to assist in a smooth shift handover highlighting Operator/production issues, Health and safety observations and issues and also raw material issues. Quality Ensure that all quality checks are being carried out on all products: Height, moisture, density & sampling. Monitor product quality and highlight issues and corrective actions to operators. Ensure that all production teams follow quality procedures when an issue has been highlighted in production.
Ensuring affected product is isolated, quarantined and a new batch number is set up. The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change.
