OverviewAssociate Security Engineer, Global Services Security role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). The candidate will work on planetary scale incident response solutions in the cloud, perform Incident Response activities, help customers build threat detection and incident response capabilities, and automate security operations to provide unprecedented capability and agility. The role involves collaborating with AWS service teams on new features, innovating with new technologies, and tackling challenging security problems to help customers operate securely in the cloud.Key responsibilitiesPerform and oversee security incident response operationsBecome a deep technical resource that earns the trust of customer stakeholders before, during, and after a security eventIndependently contribute to teams that include Amazonians, partners, and customers to build and deploy threat detection and incident response capabilitiesDesign, build, and deploy solutions to automate security operations and incident response on AWSContribute to internal initiatives to develop new consulting engagement models and capabilities for customersDevelop high-quality content, such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers to help consultants, partners, and customers build on the work deliveredInnovate on behalf of customers by translating ideas into actionable resultsMentor and invest in consultants, partners, and customers to raise the bar for customer outcomesPeriodic on-call requiredBasic QualificationsExperience performing incident response activities1+ year of experience building/operating on the AWS platform3+ years of experience in technical IT security or related role2+ years of threat detection or incident response experienceHands-on technical experience in incident response technology, security, automation, implementation, integration, and/or deploymentThis role requires you to be a national of an EU member statePreferred QualificationsHands-on technical experience in building scripts, tools, or methodologies that enhance customers’ threat detection and incident response capabilitiesStrong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Node.js, Javascript, Bash, Ruby, or SQLExperience communicating complex technical matters clearly and concisely, orally and in writingExperience managing customers during a security event, including managing expectations and delivering resultsKnowledge of incident response workflows and processesAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
