Our ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated and experienced Senior Hydrologist and Hydraulic Modeller who can spearhead strategic flood risk assessments, oversee surveys, hydrological estimation, and statistical analysis. This individual will be responsible for performing site-specific flood risk assessments for different developments and providing guidance on structural and drainage considerations to relevant teams.
The successful candidate will have eight years of relevant experience and an Honours degree in civil or environmental engineering. Expertise in hydrological estimation methodologies, strategic and site-specific flood risk assessments, 1D-2D flood modeling, particularly with software like ICM, is essential. Strong organizational and project management skills, leadership qualities, and proficiency in communication and report writing are also required.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff and ideally hold chartered membership in a recognized professional body. The role involves collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines, providing support during Oral Hearings, and contributing to shaping a low-carbon future while fostering a workplace culture that promotes growth, flexibility, and creativity.
