Job Title: Farm Relations Advisor


This role is responsible for providing advice and support at farm level in relation to current & emerging DAFM requirements. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with milk suppliers, ensuring the quality, safety, and traceability of raw milk supply.



1. Farm Advisory: Providing expert advice on all aspects of farming, with a focus on raw milk quality and improving standards among the Arrabawn Tipperary milk pool.

2. Promote Milk Quality Standards: Acting as an advisor and trusted sounding board for farmers, promoting and driving strong milk quality standards at farm level.

3. Working Closely with Suppliers: Collaborating closely with milk suppliers to ensure the quality, safety, and traceability of raw milk supply.

4. Regulatory Compliance: Managing and supervising the BORD BIA Database to ensure the Arrabawn Tipperary milk pool is SDAS compliant and meeting Grass-fed requirements.

5. Improvement Programmes: Managing an SCC & TBC improvement programme for the Arrabawn Tipperary milk pool.

6. Reporting and Problem Solving: Reporting to the Farm Relations Manager on any farm/milk quality issues arising and assisting in problem solving.

7. ASSAP Advisor: Functioning as an ASSAP advisor for improvements in water quality for the Arrabawn Tipperary milk pool.

8. Farm Sustainability Initiatives: Promoting farm sustainability initiatives at farm level that will make an environmental and economic benefit to our milk suppliers.

9. Support to Bord Bia Inspections: Direct support to Bord Bia farm inspection program / Arrabawn Tipperary farm inspections.

10. Event Planning: Aid in the planning and coordination of farm walks/farm events.



Qualifications and Experience Required:


To be considered for this role, you will have:



* A degree in Agriculture, Food or related field.

* Strong knowledge of the agricultural sector and current best practice in sustainability and quality.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Previous experience of regulatory inspections is a distinct advantage.

* Excellent people skills, with ability to form, develop and maintain successful working relationships.

* Excellent computer skills.

* Able to manage high levels of responsibility.

* Possesses elevated levels of motivation.
