About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Pharmaceutical Assistant to join our team, with a specific focus on supporting nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The role involves close collaboration with nursing staff, accurate medication preparation, and proactive support in managing patient therapies.
Key Responsibilities
* Dispense and prepare medications for nursing home residents with precision and care
* Collaborate with nursing home teams to manage Kardex, MAR charts, dosage adjustments and changes
* Ensure full compliance with PSI standards
* Monitor stock levels, expiry dates
* Assist with audits and contribute to continuous improvement in medication safety
* Provide respectful, professional service to elderly and vulnerable patients
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 2 years' experience in Irish pharmacy practice, ideally with nursing home exposure
* Strong understanding of Irish healthcare schemes (GMS, DPS, LTI)
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Proficiency in pharmacy software
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* Fluent in English
