The Trinity College Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psych) is delivered in partnership with local clinical psychologists in public health settings across Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow.
The post holder will function as a professionally autonomous member of the senior management team of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme, assuming overall responsibility for the management and leadership of clinical psychology trainees and qualified Clinical Coordinators, with respect to the clinical and professional development and appraisal aspects of the programme.
As Director of Clinical Practice on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, the postholder will oversee the planning and development of all clinical components of the training programme, which involves primary responsibility for developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing processes and documentation for the evaluation of trainees' clinical skills which is consistent with the 'Competency Framework' model, as required by the Psychological Society of Ireland and future statutory regulation.
The post holder will be responsible for planning, organising and developing those core aspects of the academic programme that relate directly to trainees clinical and professional development (e.g. 'Placement Theory and Practice' and 'Personal & Professional Development' modules), including direct teaching/lecturing.
They will provide strategic leadership for a clinical coordination team with responsibility for organising, maintaining and quality assuring the practice placements on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme, and for the associated strategy, policy and development.
