Fixed term 1 year, 8 Patient Admissions per week / 32 hours per week. Funding is secure for one substantive post with a further post being developed.

Acute Medicine at Raigmore Hospital is a growing and evolving specialty at the heart of acute care delivery across NHS Highland. Our dynamic and forward‑thinking team is committed to supporting a strong core acute medicine service while also enabling colleagues to pursue portfolio careers and contribute to care across our rural hospitals. Roles & Responsibilities
Within the department, we are able to offer a range of roles and will consider applicants who wish to contribute across a variety of services. The core role includes work within a modern acute medical ward, same‑day emergency care, general medical on‑call with a one‑week‑in‑six Monday‑to‑Thursday rotation to Caithness General Hospital. We pride ourselves on flexibility, innovation, and teamwork, and we welcome applicants who are motivated to help shape the future of acute medical services in Highland. Roles outside the core job plan will always be considered for applicants with sub‑specialty qualifications, teaching or research interests including applicants interested in the Scottish Government Global Citizenship Initiative.
Qualifications
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice and in possession of, or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine or a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration via the Combine Programme (CESR)(CP) at the time of the interview.
