Job Purpose
Dawn Farms is seeking an S&I Graduate to join our Science & Innovation Department at our state-of-the-art facilities in Naas, Co. Kildare. The S&I Graduate will be responsible for designing and executing experiments and trials, supporting project teams, and contributing to the growth of our innovation platforms and markets. This role offers exposure to advanced food research, manufacturing environments, and diverse protein product development. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, passionate about science and technology, and knowledgeable in Chemistry, Nutrition, Process Engineering, or Food Science. Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques are essential.
Positions: Full-Time, Fixed Term 2 years.
Working Hours: 39 hours/week, Mon-Fri (some flexibility required)
Role Responsibilities & Duties
* Plan and conduct experiments and trials, testing new methods and products in kitchens, pilot plants, or factories.
* Collaborate with Project Managers on trial design, timelines, troubleshooting, and improvements.
* Analyze data, maintain databases, and document results using Microsoft Office tools.
* Present findings to the team to inform decision-making during testing phases.
* Evaluate ingredients, materials, and processes to enhance capabilities.
* Develop expertise in process and analytical methods, updating specifications and SOPs.
* Share key learnings internally to improve innovation processes.
* Coordinate trial planning and knowledge transfer within the team.
* Work cross-functionally on project tasks.
* Provide technical guidance to team members and departments.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety policies, and hygiene standards.
* Execute trials efficiently, adhering to briefs and timelines.
* Qualifications include a degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Food Fermentation, or related field.
* Understanding of food applications, processing, and analytical techniques.
* Proficiency in data analysis, mathematical concepts, and laboratory equipment.
* Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
* Ability to distinguish colors and flavors, and a motivated, eager-to-learn attitude.
* Knowledge of GMP and food safety principles.
