We're now seeking for a Head of Operations to lead these critical areas and take our operations to the next level.
Role Overview
The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimising all operational departments: Transport, Fabrication, Warehouse, and Health & Safety. This leadership role will ensure that all functions operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with MSS's strategic goals. The successful candidate will bring strong business acumen, the ability to implement and manage technology systems, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Lead and oversee the daily operations across Transport, Fabrication, Warehouse, EHS and Quality Control departments.
* Ensure cross-functional collaboration to meet service, quality, and performance targets.
* Align departmental strategies with business goals, ensuring smooth and scalable operations.
Technology & Systems
* Champion the use of technology to streamline and modernise operations.
* Implement and manage project management tools (e.g., Asana,, Trello, or similar) to improve planning, accountability, and visibility across departments.
* Support the adoption of digital solutions for inventory, fleet, safety reporting, and production tracking.
Process Improvement & Mapping
* Lead the mapping and documentation of all key operational processes across the company.
* Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for automation or improvement.
* Standardise processes and create clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to support scale and training.
Team Management
* Manage and develop departmental leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and teamwork.
* Set and track performance metrics and KPIs across operational teams.
* Provide mentorship, regular feedback, and performance development plans.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure company-wide compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations and industry standards.
* Drive a proactive safety culture through training, audits, and continuous awareness initiatives.
* Ensure the company is audit-ready by preparing for Health & Safety and Quality Control inspections
Strategic Planning & Reporting
* Lead capacity planning and resource allocation based on operational forecasts.
* Report operational performance, risks, and opportunities to the executive team with data-driven insights.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of MSS through operational planning and innovation.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a operations and leadership role, ideally within transport, manufacturing, or warehousing industries.
* Strong knowledge of logistics, fabrication, warehouse systems, and HSE compliance.
* Experience with operational process mapping and implementation of SOPs.
* Hands-on experience with project management tools and digital systems.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and change management skills.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication abilities.
* Qualifications in Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
