Credit ControllerReporting to: Group Credit ManagerLocation: Nenagh, Co. TipperaryBusiness Sector: Agri/IngredientsPurpose:The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the credit and collections processes to ensure timely payments from customers, minimize bad debts, and maintain strong customer relationships. This role is key to supporting the financial stability and operations of the Co-op.Responsibilities:Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment and adherence to agreed credit termsLiaise with sales representatives and branch managers in relation to their assigned customers.Assess customer accounts, review credit limits in line with company policyProactively identify and resolve credit control issues and escalate them when necessaryProactively follow up on overdue accounts by phone, email, and written correspondenceResolve customer invoice queries promptly and effectively in collaboration with salesMaintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment historyProduce regular reports on aged debtors for senior managementSupport the month-end close process by reconciling customer accounts and posting necessary adjustmentsDownload daily bank debtor payments and forward to relevant staff for posting to debtor accounts.Continuously review and improve credit control procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce riskAdhoc duties as required within your roleQualifications/Experience required for this role:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred but not always required).Further credit control training is an advantage.Minimum 2-3 years of credit control or accounts receivable experience,Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Core) is beneficialFamiliarity with farming or rural/agricultural customer base is a plus (beneficial not essential)Key Skills/Attributes/Core Competencies:Strong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSolid negotiation and problem-solving skillsCompetency in MS Office, particularly ExcelNote: As with all positions, due to the nature of our business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
