Contract
* Contract Type: Permanent Part Time
* Contract Hours: Various contracts available
* Salary Scale: €33,708 to €40,792 pro‑rata per annum (subject to LSI – Long Service Increments)
* Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro‑rata per annum
Overview
To provide support to adult service owners to enable them to participate in their community, increase their own personal independence, achieve person‑centred goals and facilitate inclusion. The support worker will provide practical, personal and social support to the individuals and groups they work with.
Responsibilities
* Work under the direction of the Adult Services Centre Co‑ordinator to provide person‑centred support to service users.
* Partner with service owners to facilitate their active involvement in the development and achievement of personal and group goals.
* Assist with all activities of daily living – personal care, showering, session support, driving/escort duties and other special needs of service owners.
* Assist with transport needs by being available to drive service or service owner’s vehicles.
* Develop, participate and contribute to Person‑Centred Planning and key working processes in line with the national New Directions Policy and Guidelines.
* Work as part of the staff team to develop and deliver a variety of programmes that empower service owners in their personal, family, working and community life.
Essential Criteria
* Qualification in relevant Health Care/Social Care (Fetac level 5 or equivalent)
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Health Care Assistant
* Experience working with adults with physical, sensory and neurological disabilities
* Experience and ability to support an individual with personal/intimate care needs
* Experience and ability to support individuals with eating, drinking and swallowing needs
* Full Clean driver’s licence
* Knowledge of Person‑Centred approaches
Desirable Criteria
* 3 years’ experience within the disability sector
* Knowledge of Social Role Valorisation theory of practice
* Possess a D1 driving licence or willingness to obtain one
* Knowledge of Enable Ireland Services and strategic priorities
