Overview
An excellent role has arisen for an experienced EHS Specialist to join our client’s Environmental Health & Safety team.
In this role, you will provide technical guidance to the site and support ongoing projects to ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, as well as our client’s corporate standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices.
Minimum Educational Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, or a related field of study.
Required Experience and Skills
* 7+ years’ experience in EHS, Engineering, or Operations within chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or other process-related industries.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations.
* Experience with high-risk work programs (electrical safety, LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.) and contractor management.
* Ability to maintain focus on key goals and priorities, while also analysing details to resolve issues and ensure project success.
* Proven track record of success in the EHS sector.
* Experience supporting multiple activities and projects simultaneously.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and implement change.
* Strong influencing skills across departments and at all organisational levels.
* A ‘Safety First’ mindset, with a strong commitment to protecting employees and the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
* Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in General Safety and High-Risk Work Programs.
* Provide SME support in Environmental Programs (air, water, waste).
* Deliver safety support for new and ongoing projects.
* Participate in safety teams, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and other safety programs as required.
* Act as the EHS representative for risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor management.
* Assess and audit EHS processes and systems in line with our client’s global safety and environmental standards.
* Report weekly to management and department teams on KPIs, ensuring alignment with EHS objectives and targets (planned vs. actual performance).
* Serve as a leader in demonstrating and embedding a strong EHS culture across the site.
