About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project quantity surveying and estimating across a range of construction projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is commercially minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with project managers and site teams.
You will be responsible for cost control from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Carry out take-offs and pricing from drawings and specifications
- Manage project cost reporting, forecasts, and cash flows
- Handle valuations, variations, and change control
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including tender comparisons
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
- Work closely with project managers to control costs and margins
- Assess subcontractor payments and commercial performance
- Provide commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in quantity surveying and estimating within construction
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Proficient in Excel and estimating software

- Experience across civil, commercial & residential projects
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of local supply chains and subcontractors
