We are currently seeking Staff Nurses – Theatre for a leading hospital in Galway, Ireland .
Responsibilities Work collaboratively as part of the nursing team on day duty, carrying out duties assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to Theatre patients, actively participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised, patient-centred care plans.
Recognise and respond to the complex and varied needs of Theatre patients, providing comprehensive and compassionate support to both patients and their families.
Maintain accurate controlled drug records in accordance with recognised legal, professional, and hospital standards.
Ensure the safe storage, handling, and administration of all medications in line with hospital policy, NMBI, and Department of Health guidelines, prioritising patient and staff safety.
Provide supervision and mentorship to less experienced nursing staff, promoting best practice and supporting their professional development.
Deliver holistic care to emergency, medical, and surgical patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date clinical documentation and reports, in accordance with NMBI and hospital standards.
Ensure efficient and responsible use of unit supplies and equipment, maintaining safety and cost-effectiveness at all times.
Safeguard patients' personal belongings and adhere to hospital policies regarding confidentiality and care of property.
Requirements Be registered or eligible for registration in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Have a minimum of 3–5 years' experience working as a Staff Nurse in Theatre.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate flexibility in work practices to meet the needs of the department.
