Position: Director of Nursing

A Director of Nursing is required for an established nursing home in Wicklow. This role offers an opportunity to play a crucial part in a dynamic and forward-thinking company that provides excellent support.
Responsibilities:
Conduct internal audits and follow up on results.
Manage initial induction and ongoing training and development of staff.
Encourage innovative practice.
Ensure implementation and adherence to Company and HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Conduct regular communication meetings with all clinical staff.
Build rapport with external community agencies, bringing the local community into the Home, and facilitating residents to attend local functions and activities.
Liaise with Marketing to maximize opportunities and ensure the Home has a high profile in the community.
Implement the Company Health and Safety Policy to safeguard staff and resident welfare.
Conduct regular fire training and evacuation drills.
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
Participate in staff recruitment and interviews.
Conduct regular training needs analysis.
Ensure clinical practice complies with Regulations & Standards.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years of management experience in the care of older persons within the last 6 years.
Post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Sound decision-making abilities and results-driven mindset.
Ability to promote a team environment and work collaboratively.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the company's needs.
