Senior Electrical Engineer
The Position
You will be responsible for delivering electrical design work on projects from concept through to completion. Leveraging advanced BIMmodellingtechniques, you will act as the BIM Modelling Coordinator throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless coordination between design and construction teams.
As a key member of an established team of engineers and technicians, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines. Your role will involve preparing and overseeing detailed engineering designs using industry-standard design software.
Working across diverse sectors—including education, commercial, healthcare, retail, and critical systems—you will take ownership of project management responsibilities, ensuring financial targets and deadlines are achieved. You will also attend and lead project and design meetings, playing an active role in planning, delegating, and coordinating work effectively.
Beyond technical responsibilities, you will have opportunities to contribute to wider business activities such as supervising and mentoring staff, managing client relationships, overseeing project finances, and supporting business development initiatives. These responsibilities will provide an excellent foundation for future career progression.
The Skills
A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, with experience in an electrical engineering role within building services.
5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering and building services.
Proven expertise in detailed coordination with other design disciplines, alongside the ability to both lead and deliver creative, practical design solutions. Experience in preparing specifications, CDM documentation, and project reports is essential, along with a genuine passion for innovative and intuitive design.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively to overcome challenges in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Proficiency in BIM, with experience establishing BIM processes and protocols highly desirable.
