About the Role
Our client is seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineer
to join their growing mechanical team in Ireland.
This role will focus on the delivery and oversight of mechanical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects, reviewing mechanical system designs, and supporting the development of the mechanical engineering team.
The role also involves engagement with clients and contractors, providing technical guidance, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality standards and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and review
mechanical building services systems
across a range of projects
Provide design direction and technical guidance to mechanical engineers within the team
Carry out
peer reviews of mechanical designs and specifications
Support the development of the mechanical team's technical capability
Lead engineering projects and represent the company in
client and technical meetings
Provide client oversight of contractor works, including
installation and commissioning activities
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on
emerging technologies and engineering solutions
Ensure quality systems and project standards are maintained across all projects
Support
business development activities
, including identifying opportunities and assisting with project bids and interviews
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
, or a related discipline
Chartered Engineer status
with relevant professional accreditations
Minimum
7 years' experience in mechanical building services design
, with additional experience considered beneficial
Knowledge of
mechanical design principles, standards, and industry codes
, including BCO guidance
Experience reviewing commissioning processes and overseeing mechanical installations by contractors
Understanding of a wide range of
mechanical building systems and their applications
Familiarity with the full design lifecycle from
concept design through to construction administration
Good understanding of related engineering disciplines such as
electrical, public health, and fire protection
Strong communication skills and experience working with
clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
Proficient in
Microsoft Office applications
Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to technical challenges
