What They Are Looking For
Our client is seeking an experienced
Lead Estimator
to take ownership of the estimating function within the business. This role sits at senior management level and reports directly to the Commercial Director / Pre-Construction Director, working closely with senior leadership, bid teams, and delivery teams.
The role has been created to support sustained growth and an increasingly sophisticated project pipeline. You will lead tender strategy, oversee high-value bids, and ensure commercial accuracy across projects ranging up to €200M in value.
This position will suit a confident, commercially astute estimator who enjoys strategic responsibility, senior stakeholder engagement, and the ability to influence which projects the business pursues and wins.

Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the estimating function across all tenders
* Develop and implement tender strategies for major projects
* Prepare and review detailed cost plans and estimates
* Lead value engineering and risk assessment during pre-construction
* Coordinate with design, commercial, and construction teams
* Manage supply chain engagement and pricing strategies
* Oversee tender submissions and client presentations
* Maintain cost databases and benchmarking tools
* Support business development and bid/no-bid decision-making
* Mentor and develop junior estimators as required
Criteria for the Role
* 10+ years' experience in estimating within commercial construction
* Proven track record delivering successful bids on large-scale projects
* Experience across commercial, education, healthcare, or hospitality sectors
* Strong commercial judgement and risk awareness
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
* Confident communicator with senior stakeholder presence
* Ability to operate strategically while remaining detail-focused
