This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
The participant would have the opportunity to gain experience in an environment with the opportunity to learn new skills including but not limited to the following responsibilities.
* Assisting with the organisation of field events, webinars and in-person training
* Assisting with website development for projects
* Supporting projects with GIS (Geographic Information System) skills where appropriate
* Administration support
* Helping with the archiving and cataloguing of physical and digital record resources
* Graphic design of roll-up display units and related items
* Participate in Native Woodland Conservation induction training
* Funding mechanism research
* Working on building a supporter member network and stakeholder engagements
* Online webinar hosting and support
* On-site placement with a laptop provided; hybrid option later in the placement (location: Drumshanbo)
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector-recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training includes Native Woodland Conservation induction course, selected elements of the new Native and semi-natural woodland operative skills training pilot, and training opportunities available via The Wheel, Carmichael and Woodlands of Ireland. Informal Training includes teamwork, communication skills, administration, and customer service in a professional setting.
